History
In the early seventies, Honourable Shri Prakashbhai Mohadikar inspired his nephew, Shri Pramod Jakatdar to commence a business of conducting Package Tours. Since then Prakashbhai has been our inspiration and the source of perpetual energy.
In 1974 Shri Pramod Jakatdar formed a Proprietary Concern in the name of his year old son, Sachin. The first conducted tour to Raig¬ad (Capital and unconquerable Fort of the Great Maratha King Shivaji) with the eminent historian Babasaheb Purandare was in fact a Concept Based Tour of Sachin Travels.
In seventies and eighties, Sachin Travels became a popular and trusted Travel House in the Indian Tourism Industry. It operated tours to every sector in India. It also created and successfully operated many new Concept Tours such as,
`Varsha Sahal' to enjoy entertaining rain & the rain of entertainment,
`Poonam Sahal' to experience the cool & romantic full-moon night,
`Nisarg Diwali' to celebrate the `Festival of Lights' in the traditional style
In the late nineties, Sachin Jakatdar placed himself in the driving seat. Under the able guidance of his parents and grandparents Sachin took up new challenges. He, with his young & energetic team, crossed the Indian boundaries. Sachin Travels started operating its tours in South East Asia. As the business grew it was thought necessary to transform the legal status of the company. In 2002 Sachin Travels was converted into a Private Limited Company by the name of `M/s Jakatdar Tours & Travels Pvt. Ltd.' and subsequently converted into a Public Limited Company in 2010. The closely knit company is now known as ‘Jakatdar Tours & Travels Limited’ with the well established brand name of Sachin Travels. Today, as a prominent Travel House in Mumbai (India), it has widest range of tours. It is the only Travel House that arranges One Day Picnics and Twenty Two days Europe Tours too. It means that it operates within the State of Maharashtra, across India & abroad. It conducts Package Tours & Customised Tours to meet different touring interests, for outbound & inbound tourists. Today in 2010, Sachin Travels operate in 4 continents and takes its tours to South East Asia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Egypt, China, Europe and America.
